I just moved! I am really looking forward to settling into this new place and of course arranging my new craft room. For now, my dress forms are just lurking in the windows to scare off all those who venture below…
Something I Am Reading
I used to be an avid reader but I stopped during my masters degree studies and never got back into it… However, when I picked up Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross this summer, it rekindled my love for reading!
I’ve been making my way through a few that have been on my “to read” pile for quite some time as well as some new finds I was surprised by! I’m currently on a bit of a hiatus since I’ve been moving, but have been listening to Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab upon a coworker’s recommendation. Not sure if it’s for me yet, but I reached for it since I enjoyed Hungerstone so much and I was in a mood for feminine rage and vampires. Y’all should add me on StoryGraph!
Something I Am Learning
I have been working on my very first quilt! I believe this is a skill my great grandmother possessed but it was unfortunately lost to time. I am not sure if quilting is for me, but it certainly does the soul good to engage with something that I can feel connected to blood memory over and there is SUCH rich quilting history all throughout my sweet home, Alabama!
I am using the Ghost Party Pattern by woollypetals for this project! Below is one of my ghost blocks laid out and ready to sew together. Will update soon!
Something I Am Looking Forward To
The wait is almost over for “Am I Nima”, a psychological horror game coming to Steam on November 27! After playing the demo five different times, I can’t wait to explore more of this story. The game play and mechanics for world building are incredibly fresh and the art style is hauntingly beautiful.
The goal of the game is to convince your mother that you really are her daughter, but the more you explore your environment the more you learn you might be something else entirely…
Something I Just Got
CONTROL YOUR ENVY y’all, because I just obtained the Seto Kaiba Crocs from the Yu-Gi-Oh! x Crocs collection for an early birthday present! Honestly, Embassy Suites Breakfast at AWA is about to get a whole lot cooler when I come in with my yugioh crocs and matching yugioh shorts and matching yugioh shirt.
