Five Things Friday - 10/02/26

Another Friday is here! My birthday was on Monday, and although these days have been filled with work instead of revelry, I do think it’s still had a celebratory energy to it. I am in a new career path, new home, and new lifestyle and I’ve been in a season of embracing that change even with some growing pains.

Something I Never Posted

I might get around to finally posting my cosplay of Ran Haitani in the cover art outfit one of these days (after three yeaaaaars) but there’s something about seeing this years old photoshoot when I have improved so much since then has really made me think… Do I want to reshoot this entirely? MAYHAPS.

Something I’ve Been Waiting For

It’s here! It’s finally here! Tokyo Revengers Season 4 aired this morning and OF COURSE I had to wake up early to watch it before work. Without spoilers for any aspect, I will say the animation quality has improved DRASTICALLY which made for an extremely enjoyable watch and I really loved the new opening!!! Nothing will ever be as nostalgic as Crybaby, but the new opening captures the renewal of energy and BIG shifts to come this season!

And… of course, y’all know just how long I have been waiting for SANZU!

Something I’m Snacking On

I’ve been obsessed with the Clancy’s Spicy Dill Pickle potato chips from Aldi ohhhh my god. I have never been a pickle person, but my goodness gracious I love pickled / pickle flavor things and this one is my latest obsession.

Something I’m Trying

I took a visible mending class and I learned a bit of the Sashiko mending technique to breathe new life into a shirt I had gotten a stain on that would not come out. Check it out! It was also the first time I tried using stick and stitch paper and it helped me become more confident in perhaps venturing into embroidery.

I found this tutorial that has additional information on how to do some different patterns!

Something I Am Proud Of

I sewed my first quilt block! It is a repetitive, tedious practice that is very different from garment making for cosplay, but it really excited me to learn something like quilting that has such rich history to it. It was really awesome to watch a bunch of little squares and triangles come together like this and I got the stamp of approval from Legato el gato.
